I was talking to my dad earlier about getting a job as a software developer, then he said it is a great choice, but then he got serious by saying, “It is a whole lot better than making anime, anime is a useless thing, we won’t need it in the future. No one is into those.” That got me really upset, I love anime a lot and I wanna tell him that there are thousands, no, millions of people who love anime, so I decided that if this post gets more than 1,000,000 notes, I will prove him wrong.
I love anime too and i cant believe he would say that anime been getting more and more new anime that catches utakus and anime lovers attention i use to watch anime but stopped for a while cause i had no time but i still love anime no matter wat it brings out the creative side in me u have my support anime is forever and never forgotten
On the real, if he honestly sees no future in anime, or animation in general, then he clearly has no stock in Disney, which is THE money maker in animation, which houses many studios world wild, has multiple departments that go into its productions ranging from music and voice acting talent to name a few. This is nothing to be overlooked by it cross multimedia platforms that hit DVDs, Games, Live shows, etc which brought in droves of fans from all ages. This unbelievable reach extends not only to Lucas Arts, Pixar, and Marvel (all of which contain the aforementioned marketing styles mentioning above) but, as the subject at hand, also contains Gibili Studios, Japan’s legendary anime studio under Disney’s belt of content.
Not to mention the thousands of in house video game studios who use anime inspired cutscenes, from cel shaded to the classy 2-D artwork collectables… ugh, I’m just exhausting the point that the future will never forget 2-D art, it is primer for any fashion/graphic designers. It is the end all of architecture to cover all bases, not just in any first draft, but even the doodles that keep the next child whom one day change society for the better.
Anime is Media
Media will never fade, they only become more prevalent as we develop our technologies and social creativity.
Tell your dad to stop watching anything, because if he’s too close minded for animation, he’s not ready for any other media. That includes his news, his favorite program, his local book store, his internet, his radio stations, his phones…long story short, he’s out of touch.
Be proud of your enjoyment of anime, and be ready to change minds when you create the next newsworthy media piece!Source: mitsukouniverse
